International activities
We want to develop our international activities.
We are currently building a Nordic cooperation network and are looking for a partner city amongst our Nordic sister associations. The aim of Nordic co-operation is to introduce good working practices in Helsinki and to share expertise.
At European level, we find dialogue on working life issues very important. We are in contact with Finnish Members of the European Parliament. We follow the EU labour and working life issues through FinUnion representation (The Central Organization of Finnish Trade Unions SAK and Finnish Confederation of Salaried Employees STTK) (https://www.finunions.org/ ) as well as European Federation of Public Service Unions EPSU (https://www.epsu.org/). We want to be involved in the European Union decisions that affect our members.
In addition, we want to promote the solidarity of the trade union movement in Finland and elsewhere in the world. We support the activities of the Finnish Trade Union Solidarity Center Sask (https://www.sask.fi/) and corporate social responsibility organisation Finnwatch (https://finnwatch.org/fi/). We also promote our members’ participation in the solidarity work.
Our international activities aim at promoting the rights of workers and building a responsible, environmentally and socially sustainable world.
